Learning

The Miriam Webster dictionary describes learning as the process of acquiring new knowledge or skills. We generally associate learning with school and education. However, learning begins from birth. We learn to eat, crawl, walk, recognize our parents and what not. As children develop, they learn an inordinate number of skills. Learning is a continuous process which begins from the cradle and continues till the day we leave this Earth. A lot of learning happens unconsciously as we listen to people, gain new experiences, read, watch television, interact with friends or other people. However, learning happens only if we have the will to learn. Learning is something only we can do for ourselves. We learn if it is interests us to do so. Once we have learnt something, we have evolved or changed in some way. LBH (Learn by Heart) – any child will tell you what it stands for. How important is this? Is this akin to learning?
